Purple Pickled Eggs & Probiotics

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to add more Fermented Foods to our diet! Wait, one of my resolutions is to Consume more BACTERIA!?!?! Why Yes, yes it is! Why? Oh, the reasons are limitless and freaking Mind-blowing!

The many benefits of fermented foods and beverages are overwhelmingly positive! Your Gut has trillions of bacteria, many of which can strengthen your digestive system and precipitate other health benefits! In order to foster better Gut Health you can introduce more Probiotics (Fermented Foods and Beverages) but you will also need to add more Prebiotics (food for the Probiotics).

Probiotics Include Fermented Foods such as Kimchi, Krauts, Kombucha, Kefir, Yogurt, Miso, Fermented Vegetables and other fermented Beverages. Farmhouse Culture makes a wide offering of many of these that can be added to all kinds of recipes (find them at Whole Foods). I also really LOVE the WildBrine Kimchi Sriracha Sauce (also at Whole Foods).

Prebiotics serve as the food that the Probiotics feed on! Prebiotics include Dandelion Greens, Asparagus, Onion, Garlic, Leek, Beans, Flaxseed, Chicory Root and Under-ripened Fruits!

It's essential to get some of both into your diet so they can thrive together! Why? When our Gut Health is thriving with Increased Happy Bacteria they Strengthen our Immune System, relieve many digestive issues including lactose intolerance, IBS, and can even prevent Rotavirus! They can also cause clearer skin, fewer cavities, balance hormones, increase energy, reduce inflammation, reduce the risk for infections and even prevent the risk of colon cancer! They have been proven to assist with mood regulation and increased brain function and increase metabolism!!! They help your body to better absorb vitamins and minerals, utilize protein more efficiently and even assist in tolerating heat, cold and stressful situations better! And if all this is enough to make you jump right in, they also have been shown to increase Athletic Performance and Recovery! Y'all!!!!! This is AMAZING!!! .

So, finally to the Purple Eggs everyone keeps asking me about!

I've been penguin a lot of time on the Farmhouse Culture Website, cursing their recipes and brainstorming new ones! I saw their recipe for Beet Brined Eggs and since I had everything, why not give it a shot!? I mean fermented protein that is also beautiful!? What better!? . In 4 hours I had these magnificent eggs for my salad, but what’s even more 👉🏼 I used a little of the Beet Brine, whisked it with a bit of Dijon + Honey and make an amazing fermented dressing too!!! 💜 Can’t Beet it!!

I grabbed a bottle of the Farmhouse Culture Ginger Beet Gutshot. You can also use the brine in the bottom of the Fermented Ginger Beet Veggies as well! Hardboiled a few eggs, peeled them up, added them to a clean glass container with a lid. Poured the Beet Brine over them to cover. You can also add a couple TBSP of ACV to get a little more of a Pickled Tickle! ;) Place the lid on and refrigerate! Their recipe says 2+ hours, but I feel like they are much better after 8+! The dressing is truly amazing and I will be using it regularly!
