Nut Crusted Apple Tart

Not even going to lie....I just let my kids have this for breakfast. With Halo Top! Hahaha... but really, it's much better for them that most things that kids tend to eat for breakfast! Fruit, Nuts, Honey, Coconut Oil....not bad right? And they did help...so they might as well reap the benefits! ;) It was a hit and totally guilt free as far as desserts go!

What you need...

7-8 Organic Granny Smith Apples, Peeled and Sliced

the Juice of 1 Lemon

2 tsp. Coconut Oil Melted

1/2 tsp Primal Palate Pumpkin Pie Spice

1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon

1 tbsp. Coconut Sugar

🌰Nut Crust 2 cups pecan pieces

1/2 cup coconut flour (you can use almond flour if you like) 1 tbsp. raw honey 2 tbsp. coconut oil, melted

Preheat the oven to 375F. Add crust ingredients to the bowl of a food processor - add in order so the honey doesn't stick to the sides ;). Pulse the blades until you get a crumbly mixture.

Lightly spray a 9" deep dish pie plate with coconut/olive oil cooking spray. Add nut crumble to the dish, spread it out and press until firmly covering the bottom and up the sides of the dish. Set aside.

Add the sliced apples to a large bowl, toss with Lemon Juice and Melted Coconut Oil, add in Spices and Coconut Sugar and toss well to combine. Layer the Apples into the Nut Crust. We stared in the middle and made our way to the edges, simply making sure they all faced the same directions and were dispersed evenly!

Bake for about 35 minutes or until the Apples are slightly softened and the crust is set! Serve warm or cool completely and chill overnight! Slice and enjoy cold or warm!
